One Drawer Open in the Card Catalogue
Dreaming Spires, No. 30 · The Annual, Volume One, page 204
A bank of card catalogue drawers runs off at an angle, brass pulls and label holders repeating down the face of it, one drawer slid out and empty. Light comes from the left so the wood shifts from deep walnut to almost nothing at the far edge. Pulled out by somebody who has since found what they came for. From Dreaming Spires.
The Annual, Volume One, page 204.

From the collection
Every term starts the same way: a clean notebook, a sharpened pencil, the conviction that this is the year. Oxford and Cambridge have been handing out that feeling for a thousand years.
