A white quilted duvet hangs from a line strung between two iron brackets, just below an upstairs window with its blue shutters thrown open. The ochre plaster is peeling to bare patches, a lace curtain shows in the lower window, and a long diagonal shadow cuts across the wall. Somebody is up, and the bed is out getting some air.
