Glass vases run the length of a long wooden table, cream and blush roses through the middle and rust-colored ones stacked at either end, more vases and a terracotta pot standing on the floor beneath. Light comes hard through the tall window on the right and lays two bright patches across the stone, the green paneled cupboard at the back keeping its shadow. Everything conditioned and standing in water, waiting to become somebody’s flowers.
