A black rotary telephone sits on a worn painted counter, its coiled cord spilling over the front edge, a galvanized bucket of pink roses standing close behind it. The chipped paint and water stains of the countertop take up the lower half of the frame while the roses go soft and unresolved at the top. Every bouquet in the shop started as a voice on that line.
