Vine rows in orange, red and yellow fan down the slope toward the viewer, with violet shadow lying in every lane between them. At the top of the hill a village of cream stone houses and tiled roofs gathers around a square bell tower, one dark cypress at its edge. From down here it looks as if the whole place was built to keep an eye on the harvest.
