Five chestnuts lie scattered on white, their mahogany shells striped with darker grain and carrying bright white highlights. Each shows its pale, rough base or its pointed tip, and each sits on a small grey-violet shadow. Somewhere nearby there is a paper cone and a man with a brazier.
