Three stemless glasses stand half drunk on boards gone grey with weather, ruby in two and a paler pink in the third, each one smudged where field hands picked it up and set it down. Drips and old rings mark the wood around them. Lunch is over, the rows called everyone back, and nobody’s coming for these until dark.
