Grand Prix

Every driver wants to win here more than anywhere else, and not one of them can fully explain why. The harbor. The history. The sheer nerve the place demands. Monaco is where driving becomes legendary.

Nowhere else do they race like this. Through the streets of a principality barely larger than a neighborhood, between stone walls and steel barriers, down to a harbor full of boats and back up past a casino that has watched over the whole thing for the better part of a hundred years. The cars come through the corner beneath the cliffs, vanish into the tunnel, and burst back into the light. It is the slowest circuit on the calendar and the one they all want to win. Beautiful and unforgiving in the same breath. There is nothing else like it.

Seventy-eight watercolor-inspired illustrations move through a Monaco race weekend, from the first quiet hour to the empty streets covered in confetti. There are the cars, captured the way they feel rather than the way a spec sheet describes them, leaning into the corner beneath the cliffs, throwing spray down the harbor front, ghosting along a barrier at speed until the bodywork half-dissolves into motion. There are the rituals that haven’t changed in decades, a driver bowing his head over a single glove, a stopwatch beside a hand-marked lap chart, a tarnished silver cup that won something once. There is the principality itself, the circuit threaded between honey-stone facades, the casino across an empty track at golden hour, the old chapel keeping its calm behind the catch-fencing. And there are the hours the racing makes possible, the yachts and the terraces and the champagne, the glamour that’s trailed this race from the beginning. The palette runs from Mediterranean turquoise and honey limestone to racing red, slate grey, and the red-and-white of the kerbs, with amber light pooling through nearly all of it.

For travel and lifestyle editorial, hospitality and event brands, motoring and sporting publications, wedding and brand designers, and anyone drawn to the romance of the Côte d’Azur and the sport it’s famous for. Grand Prix stands on its own, no companion volume required. Pull a single image for a cover or a wall, or let the full set carry a brand through a whole summer season on the Riviera.
